Description

From warm-up to the stage, we are diving into the best practices for teaching the early years. This four part series will guide teachers through an entire preschool class framework. You will learn about the brain and body connection in early childhood, classroom management procedures, class activities, choreography, and more!

The Foundation

This session studies the developing child, how to meet their needs, and the role movement plays in their development. This clarity will elevate and enrich your early childhood dance program, guide your intention, and foster confidence in and out of the classroom.

The Artist

This session explores how we can encourage the development of the artist inside every young child. Through explorations and games we will discover the magic behind the movement we teach and the movement our students create.

The Skills

In this session, we will learn the skills every early childhood dance student needs to set the foundation for their future technical training. We will learn strategies on how to perform these skills to encourage proper development, class flow, and self-reflection.

The Performance

In this session, we will learn how to create a positive performance experience for our toddlers and preschoolers. We will study the DiscoverDance Showcase Experience, strategies for teaching choreography, and how our approach evolves through the developmental stages.
